As a registered and licensed dietitian, I have gone through a lot of training specifically in sports nutrition.  I have also been certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Specialist, and have been coaching runners for years.  I have used my training on myself, as well as many other people, including several Ironman triathletes, to learn how to best meet the needs of endurance athletes.

Athletes have very unique nutritional needs.  These needs are influenced by age, gender, climate and sport.  In addition, nutrition needs change during certain periods of training.  For example, and endurance athlete who is going through a “base” period of training will have different carbohydrate/protein/fat needs than that same athlete will during competition build up, as well as during competition.

As a vegetarian athlete myself, I know first hand the impact that proper nutrition has on performance. No matter whether you are a professional or an amateur, the right nutrition, at the right time, will make all the difference in how well you perform and how good you feel before, during, and after an event.

Athletes who are vegetarian or have celiac or other food sensitivities have even more specialized needs, and I have the advanced clinical skills in these areas to meet those needs.

Marquette Nutrition & Fitness, LLC specializes in meeting the needs of teenage and adult athletes who participate in cycling, running, and triathlon. To help you perform your best, I will conduct an initial assessment to determine if you currently have any nutritional deficiencies.  Based on an initial assessment of your diet and training schedule, I will individualize a dietary plan for you.  Supplements will be recommended on an as needed basis.   Keep in mind that your dietary plan will vary depending on what point you are at in your training.  Contact Us to make an appointment today.
